"The purpose of the playing rules is to penalize a player who, by reason of an illegal act, has placed an opponent at a disadvantage."
This principle is the fundamental rule of Officiating. Every penalty decision made by an an On-Ice-Official (whether to call, or not to call) is judged on whether there has been both: an illegal infraction as per the rule book, and a material change in advantage to one team.
The purpose of this principle is to ensure that the game progresses smoothly and so that it is not unnecessarily interrupted by the official's whistle.
STILLS:
The stills from the U 14 Skills, U 16 Team Relay and the U 19 All-Star Games are available here.

VIDEO:
The video will be available on Roger’s Shaw TV sometime in January. We are currently working on the editing and post-production aspect of the video from all 4 broadcast cameras. We have the play by play & color as well as the one on one interviews. The one on ones are the holdup as we are adding the players names etc to the bottom third, and that takes some time.
The videos will be broadcast on Roger’s Shaw Community Channel, hopefully, late January. A week after the release, we will post it on-line, for those without a subscription to Roger’s Shaw to view.
A reminder that ringette rules prohibit wearing necklaces and dangly earings for players during games; this is for safety reasons. Officials have been issuing warnings to teams, but may start issuing delay of game penalties if teams continue to wear this type of jewelry.
